Me/E Fastcast Water Hexer
I tried an E/Mo water hexer in Alliance battles the other day and found the cast times too slow, but otherwise really really effective for negating the damage of entire groups of anything. So this is what i've put together and used to great effect in AB:
Me/E
12+2 Fast Casting
12 Water Magic
Ice Spear - spam, 58 cold damage, 1/2 range, 0.5sec cast
Ice Spikes - moderate aoe snare, 5sec duration, 1sec cast
Deep Freeze - huge aoe snare, 10sec duration, 1.5sec cast
Maelstrom - self-explanatory caster interrupt, 10sec duration, 1sec cast
Blurred Vision - moderate aoe 50% miss chance, 18sec, 0.5sec cast
Armor of Mist - +34 armor, +33% speed boost, 18sec, 1sec cast
Elemental Attunement
Water Attunement
Sword +5 energy, +20% enchanting
20/20 Water offhand
so... Usage:
- 14FC means your spells take ~1/2 their normal casting time to cast.
- double attunes keep you high on the energy.
- you can run around with armor of mist.
- say you see a nice group of warriors/sins/rangers/TOUCH RANGERS. deep freeze/ice spikes + blurred vision = significantly decreases their damage output. oh, did i mention that Deep Freeze has a HUGE aoe?
- say you see a group of casters or a lone monk... deep freeze/ice spikes + maelstrom! can you say near total shutdown of a group of casters in 3 seconds? and it's funny to hear all the chirping too.
- say you see a nice group of minions with their MM. deep freeze/ice spikes + maelstrom! MM can't heal... minions die from maelstrom.
- the above characteristics make it perfect for ganking points... you're usually dealing with one type of NPC of which there are 2 to 3... in a nice close bunch.
weaknesses:
- vulnerable to interrupts from a good mesmer. (well so is any caster...)
- enchantment stripping is a problem, but in my experience it's few and far between in AB...
- teleporting assassins is also a problem as you can't hex them when you're KDed
oh, and don't forget to spam ice spear. 46dps on a 60AL target (58/(.5+.75))

Great build Only diff in my fast caster and yours is I use shardstorm. Its a pity more dont realize the power of this build...it destroys npc caster bases, slows annoying warriors, mm armys...kill mm, monks etc. espeacially when coupled with a fast cast air buddy....I could go on but you get the point
